Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Cedar River Community Partners is a San Antonio charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grant reporting, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with grant reporting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in San Antonio. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
