Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Greenridge Orchard Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Birmingham, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
