Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Silverline Lantern Insurance is an insurance company in Minneapolis with claims and service teams. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Minneapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
