Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Linden Inspection Services Group is an inspection company in Savannah with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with certifications. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
