Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Cedar Birch Energy Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 81 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
