Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Iron Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 49 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
