Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bright Oak Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for equipment calibration, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
