Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Rivermark Orchard Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for usage data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
