Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Northwind Hollow Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 23 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
