Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Basin Foods Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
