Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Stonegate Sparrow Transit Planning Group is a transit-planning firm in Seattle working with agencies and riders, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to survey data, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with survey data. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Seattle. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
