Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Westbrook Beacon Markets is a Milwaukee retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around shrink and waste against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Milwaukee. • We reply to every applicant.
