Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Maple Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with project schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
