Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Redstone Beacon Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Atlanta plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
