Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Northwind Basin Civic Services supports public agencies in Denver with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around public records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with constituent requests. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
