Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Amberfield Stone Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Richmond, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around card disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
