Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Cross Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Tulsa, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with certifications. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Tulsa. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
