Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Westbrook Lakeside Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Grand Rapids area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Grand Rapids. • We reply to every applicant.
