Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bluepeak Iron Learning Group Partners runs classrooms and tutoring across the Portland area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 75 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Portland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
