Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Cedar Orchard Freight is a Charleston logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We reward reliability. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Charleston. • We reply to every applicant.
