Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Foxglove Cross Banking Services is a community-focused bank in New Orleans serving households and small businesses. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around card disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with deposit accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
