Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Nova Wilder Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Toledo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
