Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Summit Fern Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
