Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Greenridge Rook Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Detroit, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
