Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Nova Meadow Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 34 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with attendance records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
