Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bluepeak Rook Markets Group serves neighbourhoods around Raleigh with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 111 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Raleigh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
