Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Amberfield Meadow Housing Associates is a nonprofit housing provider in Indianapolis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 675 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with repair requests. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Indianapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
