Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Nova West Farms is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Milwaukee. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
