Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Linden Foods and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Jacksonville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
