Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Foxglove Sparrow Arts Center is an arts centre in Raleigh with a full calendar of events. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 14 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Raleigh. • We reply to every applicant.
