Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Stonegate Birch Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for proof of delivery, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
