Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bluepeak Umber Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for food costs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around group events against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with food costs. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
