Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Cedar Sparrow Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Toledo area, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Technicians and office staff share information daily. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to network equipment, and clear open items. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Toledo. • We reply to every applicant.
