Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bright Keystone Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Minneapolis design routes and schedules, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Track costs around survey data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Minneapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
