Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Silverline Linden Foods is a Chicago food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
