Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Foxglove Bright Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 60 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Baltimore. • We reply to every applicant.
