Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Stonegate Meridian Banking Services is a regional lender in Kansas City with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with deposit accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
