Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Silverline Quarry Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Hartford, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Hartford. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
