Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Cedar Quarry Environmental Services Associates collects and processes waste and recycling around San Diego, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with landfill records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
