Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bright Quarry Energy Partners is an energy provider in Birmingham focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
