Accountant - fixed assets (Raleigh, NC)

Amberfield Sparrow Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Raleigh region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Raleigh. • We reply to every applicant.
