Accountant - fixed assets (Raleigh, NC)

Amberfield Sparrow Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Raleigh region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with seasonal crews.
