Accountant - fixed assets (Providence, RI)

Foxglove Lakeside Civic Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for public records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Providence. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to public records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around case files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with public records. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
