Accountant - fixed assets (Providence, RI)

Ironwood Rook Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Providence plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Track costs around press runs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with bindery work. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Providence. • We reply to every applicant.
