Accountant - fixed assets (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Fern Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Providence. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
