Accountant - fixed assets (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Linden Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. We reward reliability. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Track costs around loads and lanes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
