Accountant - fixed assets (Portland, OR)

Summit Umber Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Portland area, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 518 people based in Portland. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with reviews and feedback. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Portland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
