Accountant - fixed assets (Portland, OR)

Highbridge Loom Medical Group designs and makes medical devices in Portland, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to device records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with device records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
