Accountant - fixed assets (Portland, OR)

Rivermark Sable Housing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for repair requests, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to repair requests, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with repair requests. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Portland. • We reply to every applicant.
