Accountant - fixed assets (Portland, OR)

Ironwood Lakeside Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Portland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. • Track costs around network equipment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
